Why are papers still primarily distributed as PDFs? It seems to be easier to generate a PDF from HTML than the reverse.
I'm a big fan of arxiv-vanity but it's awkward reading other papers in handheld devices.

I'm coming to the conclusion that CS papers need to be printed.
They don't suit ereaders (PDFs don't reflow), they're too small on smartphones and I find a laptop less portable.
I suppose the clue is in the name!

Turns out you can even read PDFs from Emacs. You rarely need to leave the comfort of your lisp environment!
