Emacs, or perhaps lisps in general, are a profoundly weird development experience. I've found a bug with byte compilation, so I'm stepping through the byte-compiler live in my current Emacs instance and amazingly everything works.

I've been compilation buffers in Emacs recently and I really appreciate the error and warning counts shown in the modeline.
I've added the equivalent feature to deadgrep: it shows result counts! Really useful when you're doing big refactorings.

I'm really impressed, it's rare to see LLMs ask follow-up questions.
(I wanted Emacs in this case.)
