I'm delighted that so many people are getting value in difftastic, but there has been a significant increase in new issues recently! Hopefully this is a temporary bump from HN. It's a genuine risk from creating a generic tool: if 1% of devs use it, that's a huge userbase.

When I first learnt VCS, I focused on history. It was only later I realised that it's wonderful for temporary notes too. I write a lot of `// here` and `// here?` comments now, as I can easily discard them once I've committed the interesting bit.

It's funny how 'tap to pay by phone' apps show a picture of a credit card. Is it a temporary skeuomorphism to help users understand, or will it become a generic symbol like the floppy disk 💾?
