User profiles on websites have gone from "paste your CSS here" to "here's a smaller set of options that all look good".
I feel like app theming is following the same trend. So many apps just offer a dark mode and nothing else.

Are there any nice cross-platform ways to trigger a notification from a terminal?
I've been using https://pushover.net/ but you need to use a browser and it's noticeably slower than the native options.
(Pushover is great for mobile notifications though.)

Designing UIs is such a hard problem.
Sometimes I try a bunch of options and I settle on "this one seems the least annoying".
I'm impressed by how many options I'm offered in Common Lisp (in this case sbcl on Sly) for a simple error like an invalid variable name!
