Turns out that elisp is a very transferrable skill. Many language communities benefit from a few elisp hackers to help with tooling.
The most common languages used by Emacs hackers seem to be Haskell and Clojure. I may be missing out by not using either of those regularly.
The Emacs stackexchange has a lot of elisp hackers far more knowledgeable than me, and I'm learning tons. Let me know if you want an invite.
