I see people advocating for writing a FAQ, but I really struggle to write one from scratch. The best FAQs are written as a response to, well, frequent questions. How do you populate the initial FAQ?

Today I learnt that Scheme (1975) is actually older than Common Lisp (1984)! I'd assumed that Scheme designs were a response to CL. Many of the CL features were created earlier, in fairness. CL was standardising the feature set.

My email load is sufficiently low that I'm willing to budget one response per person to emails from strangers. I don't understand how people with high profiles (e.g. running major OSS projects) manage.
