Common Lisp has a function change-class that lets you change the class of instance (like reassigning __class__ in Python). http://clhs.lisp.se/Body/f_chg_cl.htm
I love the note at the end: "semantic difficulties" if you call any methods whilst the class changes!

Playing with optional type signatures in Python, I realise that the return type is the most important to me.
I'd much rather have a function with only a return type instead of a function with only parameter types. It's often quick to add too.

Assertions are a surprisingly nuanced design space. In a test, if I assert `x < y`, I really want to see the values of x and y when it fails.
Do you define an API for every possible predicate (Python's assertLess, expect.js) or try to support the native syntax (c.f. pytest)?
