I don't use subagents much: I usually want to discuss and iterate on the subtask. Subagents are typically unattended. I find myself writing md files for a new session to read. Are there any harnesses that treat forking as a first class feature?

It's really satisfying fixing crashes in rust-analyzer. You can start from a panic message and dig until you've got a tiny Rust program that triggers the problem. (It's usually an issue with incomplete source files breaking invariants.)

LLMs seem to handle dependency upgrades really well. The task is well-specified, there's usually a build/test suite to check correctness of the modifications, and there's often a changelog they can consume too.
