The more I learn of Matlab and R conventions, the more sense Julia's design makes to me. It often draws its conventions from them.

I thought that Rust's concept of ; (i.e. don't return a value) was novel. Turns out MATLAB does something similar!
It's a behaviour inherited from MATLAB, and will probably be removed at some point.
