Python is arguably a great PL for a long term project. I can't imagine there will ever be a Python 4 breaking backward compatibility.

I've dabbled with 'conventional commits' for a personal project but I found they slowed me down.
It's not always easy to categorise a commit as a fix, a chore etc. Sometimes refactorings also fix bugs.
Do you use them? I can imagine a large, mature project benefitting more.
What are the most popular languages that have used an AST walker for their implementation?
I know Ruby used to do this, but there must be others.
(I'm interested in the lowest PL speed that users will tolerate if you have awesome features.)
