Trying the nix CLI today, and I'm seriously impressed with the formatting of its --help output.
Indented warnings, italics, bullets, even adding a left border to code snippets! It's a nice reminder to take full advantage of terminal features to help the reader.
It's always depressing looking at the SSH logs for my tiny server. I have it appropriately locked down, but it's a sobering reminder of how hostile the internet can be.
I've worked on JS projects where we set a maximum line number on files. It worked well -- it was a gentle reminder that a module had grown and would benefit from splitting up.
(I think this would definitely work in other languages, but probably with a higher line threshold.)
