I've never seen a JIT with an "eject" option. If I'm happy with the steady-state performance of my system, I'd rather disable the JIT and lose additional optimisation in favour of removing the tracing overhead. Do any languages offer this?

I'm not a fan of the mastodon web UI behaviour where moving down with cursor keys 'snaps' to the next toot. Is it possible to disable this, so my cursor keys always move the page by a consistent visual amount? I've poked in the settings and didn't see anything obvious.

The novel feature of a "ribbon" toolbar is that it's contextual. It only offers the functionality that you need. Could we do the same with programming languages? You could enable/disable features based on e.g. codebase size.
